sad news

It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of "Old Blackie". At approximately 5:30pm on Monday, June 8th, Old Blackie is believed to have spread his wings high and wide atop a transformer, thereby becoming a conduit for a gazillion volts of electricity.
"Mrs Old Blackie" witnessed the event and became extremely distraught, cawing loudly and wildly circling the accident scene. She has followed this up by confusedly dive-bombing passers-by, including the most benevolent Detective Swaney, himself.
Old Blackie's morning call for breakfast will be sorely missed by the Detective and also his tentative friend, "Old Whitey".
As Detective Swaney has been known to mutter, "he was a good ole boy."

The Crow Bar will never be quite the same.

Young & Carefree

I found these pictures the other day and thought you guys might enjoy them. The one with both Ida & Lyall is dated 1944 and I imagine the other is around the same time, as Gramma is wearing the same unique sunglasses. Note the kid in behind her! (It can't be Jake as this was before his time).

Sunny Sunday

Today we had brekkie at Molly's after first dishing out brekkie for Blackie & Whitey. It's a beautiful sunny day - feels like Summer.

out & about in Gibsons today

It felt good to be up & about today, especially after being stuck in bed sick for the past couple of days. Bonus that the sun was shining. Today we went to the Waterfront Restaurant for brunch - not as tasty as Molly's, but a nice treat anyway (plus I got some good condiment pictures).

a pot of gold would be nice...

Here's tonight's sunset. Seemed quite appropriate for St.Patricks day.

yesterday & today

It was lovely in Lower yesterday - chilly but clear. But that dark cloud above Grammas Pub was holding a little surprise... 4 inches of snow this morning!

Beaver Canoe

Some people have a tough time letting go of things.
This sweatshirt is at least 33 years old.

Kate & Gramma January 24th

Gibsons in the fog shots

We had lots of snow followed by 20 days of fog. It made for a couple of good pictures though. The sunrise pictures are un-altered. There was cloud above and a bank of fog over the water. The colours of the sunrise bounced off both - it was really quite amazing.
